A very free-flowering selection and one of the latest of the Colchicum’s to bloom, with violet flowers, and a distinctive white throat.
These amazing autumn flowering bulbs, more closely related to ‘Lilies’ than Crocus can add a real zest to autumn with their vibrant colours lasting for weeks. The flowers die down in late autumn, new leaves appear in early spring. These too will disappear by next summer, only for the flowers to appear again in autumn as if by magic, without the leaves. Use at the base of shrubs or conifers, beneath roses, among growing plants of heathers. Well-drained soil, sun or part shade.
